Create special memories in the Lake District on a 1-hour dark sky stargazing experience run from near Coniston Water. Run as a private stargazing experience for you and your invited guests our astronomer will take you on a whirlwind stargazing adventure around the night sky using one of our large telescopes. Along the way you'll visit sparkling star clusters, ancient red supergiants and distant galaxies beyond our own. If the moon and / or planets are visible at the time we'll get a look at them too in the telescope.

1-HOUR LAKE DISTRICT DARK SKY STARGAZING EXPERIENCE 

Discover a starry night sky in the Lake District on a private 1-hour stargazing adventure with an experienced astronomer as your guide. Run exclusively for you and your invited guests we'll take you on a grand tour of the night sky from our stargazing location near Coniston Water.

Included is a laser-guided tour of the stars and constellations that we can see on your stargazing night, and a journey out across the cosmos using one of our large telescopes. You'll get views of star systems, star clusters, nebulae and distant galaxies beyond our own. If the moon and / or planets are visible too we'll get a look at them in the telescope as well. 

If you'd like a good view of the Milky Way from the Lake District you'll need to stargaze on a night where we have a clear sky and a moonless time slot (i.e. before the moon rises or after it sets) from July through late November / early December. 

If you'd like a list of available dates and times for stargazing in the Lake Distrct please do contact us. Normally we'll be running on a 5 to 6-month lead time for available dates, although we may have slots thart come up sooner. Alternatively we offer the 1-hour Lake District dark sky stargazibngf experience as a gift voucher inside one of our luxury A5 gift boxes. This gives the recipient the flexibility to choose their own date when convenient. The stargazing voucher is valid for two years initially, with an option to extend the voucher for an additional year free of charge so as to allow plenty of time for the recipient to book a date, and for us to find a clear night on which to run the stargazing experience. 

We're happy to personalise the voucher with a short message. A message box will appear during the checkout process for you to add your personal note.

When can the stargazing voucher be used? 

Weekends and weeknights ay time of the year, subject to our availability.  Please consider booking 5 - 6 months in advance for the best selection of dates.

What if it is raining or cloudy? 

Naturally cloud and rain is always a threat. When booking the stargazing experience we recommend that you choose  2 or 3 nights initially on which you’d be happy for us to run the experience for you. If it is cloudy / raining on all selected nights then we’ll simply roll the experience forward to an alternative date that works. We can keep rolling the experience forward until we are able to run the stargazing for you.
